Today, we’re taking you around the world. But, don’t panic, you don’t need your passport and a few days holiday, you just need a glass and our fantastic wine list. That’s right, we’re exploring the world through wine and selecting the perfect vintages to accompany your wedding breakfast has never been more fun. Join us as we whiz around the world, sampling the best wines around and think about bringing these superb flavours to your big day.
If you’re serving wine on your wedding day, why not travel the world and choose the best vintages from each country for each course? You don’t have to stick to one country, or colour, throughout your wedding – we recommend choosing the very best that each country has to offer and enjoying every sip.
So, let’s open a brilliant bottle for your starter and quite often, a fabulous chilled white is the perfect accompaniment for this part of your wedding breakfast. Our wine list includes superstars from the southern hemisphere and these bottles are always incredibly popular with guests. How about a Berri Estates un-oaked Chardonnay if you’re a fan of Australian wines or you could opt for a South African bottle, if you prefer? We heartily recommend Cullinan View’s Chenin Blanc as a mouth-watering opener.
What could be better alongside a delicious main course than a fantastic Latin wine? When we think of rich Riojas, we automatically think of Spain and our wine list includes Don Jacobo Rioja Crianza, Bodegas Corral – a wise choice with steaks and rich main courses. Alternatively, a lush Argentinian red might well be your preferred option and the Alma Mora Reserve Malbec is sure to delight your guests.
Moving on to desserts and let’s travel on to one of the most historic wine producing nations – France. A chilled sweet Garonnelles Sauternes from Lucien Lurton et Fils is a luxurious partner to any sweet treat. You might not automatically think of serving a specific wine with your dessert, but they complement our puddings perfectly and dessert wines a real touch of occasion to the end of your meal.
Of course, there has to be bubbles when there are speeches and, if we stay in France, we find Taittinger Brut Reservé and this excellent champagne is absolutely ideal for toasts. Why not keep the cork from the first bottle opened as a memento of your day?
In the evening, it’s time to head to Italy for some fun. Our create-your-own Bellini bars are brilliant interactive entertainment for your reception and they’re absolutely delicious too! Pop the corks of a few bottles of Bolla Extra Dry Prosecco from Veneto and let your guests mix their perfect cocktails.
Alternatively, if you’d prefer to stay at home, why not opt for our English Wine package? We’ve selected the very best from England’s leading wine maker for you and they are all excellent choices for a wedding day. How about Chapel Down Rosé Brut NV for a hint of pink during your drinks reception? Follow this be serving Chapel Down Bacchus White, English Rose Rosé or Union Red with your meal and then toasting your marriage with the elegant Chapel Down Three Graces Brut NV.
