With their hearts set on a rustic venue that was full of light and offered plenty of space, Terri and Brian knew they had found their perfect setting when they saw Rivervale Barn.
“We attended the open day and seeing the barn fully decorated showed us just how beautiful it could look on our special day,” says Terri, “The gardens are stunning and the barn was just what we wanted.”
To complement the rustic feel of the venue, the happy couple decided on a natural and informal style to create a relaxed atmosphere. They used wicker hearts to bring some more character to the venue and hired Cherubs Floral Design to decorate the collection of barns beautiful flowers and ivy garlands which hung from the beams.
With a colour scheme of greens and white from the floral decorations and accents of navy blue that featured in the bridesmaid’s dresses, Terri and Brian added a touch of elegance to their natural theme.
Having tied the knot at a local church, Terri and Brian arrived at Rivervale Barn to celebrate their special day with all their loved ones. The perfect way to start things off was with cocktails and canapés while enjoying the charming courtyard and spectacular gardens. With strawberry rose sangria and a drum full of ice-cold beers served with duck spring rolls, prawn tempura and plenty more little treats to delight their guests.
“The canapés were divine!” says Terri. “The Service Team even brought some out to us while we were off having our photos taken which was greatly appreciated as I was starving by then.”
To keep to the casual feel of their wedding day, the bride and groom opted for a mouth-watering barbecue buffet which was all freshly prepared and cooked before their eyes in the courtyard. With burgers, sausages, chicken kebabs and all the accompaniments you could possibly wish for, it’s safe to say that the barbecue was a real hit with everybody.

The wonderful wedding food didn’t stop there and when day turned to evening, Terri and Brian treated their guests to wood-fired pizzas cooked al fresco in the pizza oven.
“Unfortunately I didn’t get any as I was too busy dancing but I heard from my guests that they were great!” laughs Terri.
From their visit right up to the end of their wedding day, the bride and groom had the full support of the Galloping Gourmet Events Team at Rivervale Barn, meaning they could rest assured knowing that they were in expert hands.
“The Events Team were fantastic,” says Terri. “They went through everything well in advance and kept in contact all the way through the lead up to our wedding. I can’t fault them at all!”
After they had booked their date, the couple got to experience just how special their wedding at Rivervale Barn could be by attending the Galloping Gourmet Tasting Event. With the venue styled exquisitely, delectable wedding food and drink to sample and the place full of soon-to-be newlyweds, they could see that their own day was sure to be unforgettable. And it was!
