The Wasing Park estate is a breathtaking place to celebrate full of elegance, charm and natural beauty. When Rachel and Stuart visited, they knew that this stunning Berkshire wedding venue was where they would hold their special day.
“Wasing Park had everything we could have possibly wanted. We had actually already reserved a date at another venue, but as soon as we arrived at Wasing’s showcase event, we knew it was the place for us. From the long drive through rolling countryside to the exquisite buildings and on-site accommodation, each part was perfect.” – Rachel
With their day taking place across Wasing Park’s light-filled Garden Room and the characterful Castle Barn, the happy couple wanted to ensure that their chosen décor worked well in both authentic and contemporary spaces. They decided upon a soft, romantic feel with plenty of floral decorations and a classic colour combination of blush pink and ivory, with dashes of metallics to give a modern feel.
“We got engaged in New York and it’s our absolute favourite city, so we had a New York-themed table plan as part of our décor. We used plenty of storm lanterns with pillar candles and amazing floral displays in both the ceremony room and reception barn. Our florist Joanna Carter put together the most beautiful flowers and even gave us a decorative floral heart which we hung outside the Garden Room.” – Rachel
With the sun shining, the newlyweds spilled out onto the terrace to celebrate with drinks and canapés created by the Galloping Gourmet team at Wasing Park. With strawberry rosé sangria, Prosecco and beer drums full of Budvar and Peroni being served alongside crispy risotto balls, Chinese-spiced pork belly, deep-fried brie with red pepper sauce and mini fish and chip cones, the drinks reception was incredibly well received by all the guests.
When it was time for the wedding breakfast, the happy couple had decided on a menu filled with their favourites from the Galloping Gourmet dishes. Their first course was a ham hock, sage and onion croquette with puy lentils and baby leeks, followed by fillet of beef with dauphinoise potatoes for the main course and a deconstructed vanilla cheesecake with raspberry coulis and edible flowers to finish it all off.

“The fillet of beef was absolutely delicious and definitely the stand-out dish for us. We still can’t believe that the Galloping Gourmet chefs were able to serve all 80 of them perfectly cooked!” – Rachel
After the wedding breakfast, Rachel and Stuart treated their loved ones to a martini station, post-dinner cocktails for the day guests and arrival drinks for the evening attendees. And the showstopping food and drink didn’t end there either. Wood-fired pizzas with pepperoni and chorizo or spinach and goat’s cheese with toasted pine nuts were the perfect choice.
The Galloping Gourmet Events Team at Wasing Park are always on-hand to help couples create their perfect wedding day, and Rachel and Stuart found this out during their wedding planning.
“Gemma was our personal Event Manager and she was fantastic! At one point I must have been emailing three or four times a week and she always got back to me quickly and eased my concerns. She also ran through everything with me the day before and the staff on the day were all incredible.” – Rachel
