When you think about your wedding day menu, pasta might not be the first thing that you think about. But why not? We all love dishes with an Italian flavour and pasta is one of the UK’s favourite foods. Perhaps because we see it as an everyday ingredient, we’re less inclined to include it in our wedding day feasts. However, we’re here to tell you that at Galloping Gourmet, our pasta dishes are anything but ordinary so here are some sophisticated options that will be a fitting centrepiece for your special feast.
Before we start, let’s talk a little bit about the pasta itself and you can be sure that we won’t be bulk-buying bags of the dried stuff for your day. Oh no, we’ll be hand-making indulgent fresh pasta for you and your guests to enjoy. This is luxe pasta with a gloriously smooth texture that’s a wonderful accompaniment to other ingredients. And do we have a fabulous and decadent selection of ingredients for our pasta dishes…
If you want to start with a fish course or if you just love seafood, how about a sublime ravioli of king prawns with ginger and coriander served with a saffron and garlic cream? This is such a luxurious dish that always draws lots of compliments from very happy guests!
Moving on to more substantial meaty options, you could serve grilled loin of English pork with a ravioli of confit belly, vanilla spiced apple, celeriac puree and roast shallot. Or perhaps you’d prefer roast pork tenderloin, ravioli of spiced belly and a velvety smooth caramelised onion jus instead?
If beef is more your thing, we have just the dish for you. Does the thought of fillet of Scotch beef with ravioli of peppers and Parmesan, warm asparagus and a tomato and basil vinaigrette make your mouth water? We bet it does!
Pasta is also a great choice for your vegetarian option too. Handmade pasta is such a treat and when it’s teamed with fantastic fresh and seasonal ingredients, the results are beyond brilliant. One of our favourite dishes has to be our take on a deconstructed vegetarian lasagne. Grilled vine plum tomatoes and buffalo mozzarella are served with sheets of our freshly made pasta and served with green olive tapenade. The result is a melt-in-the-mouth treat that no one will forget!
Of course, that’s not the only pasta dish we offer for vegetarians. Will you choose ravioli of Cerney goats’ cheese served with shallot confit and a tomato and basil vinaigrette? Or, does creamed woodland mushrooms on fresh pasta sound more enticing? Whatever you choose, you can be sure it will look as good as it tastes.
Finally, let’s not forget your younger guests and pasta is a great option for tiny diners too. We serve the favourites that you know they’ll love including traditional mac n’ cheese and penne pasta with meatballs in a tomato sauce. Even the pickiest eaters will be asking for seconds!
