Larissa and Sam were looking for the perfect setting for their special day, one that would let them celebrate with all their friends and family around them in a truly picturesque country location. After plenty of searching, they eventually visited Clock Barn, a magical barn wedding venue in Hampshire, and instantly fell in love.
“We had been looking for a barn venue but all the ones we visited, although lovely in their own rights, didn’t quite tick the box. Clock barn was the last venue we visited and I had tears in my eyes and butterflies as we walked around. From the winding drive through the fields to the fairy lights wrapped around the beams in the barn – it just had it all!” – Larissa
The happy couple chose an April wedding date and began planning the theme and colour scheme to make Clock Barn their own. Larissa wanted to ensure that the day was all about sentimental and personal touches and less focused on current trends and Pinterest inspiration, so the couple adopted a hands-on approach and created a number of elements themselves.
“We used peach and hessian as the basis of our theme and used plenty of romantic quotes as decorations throughout the barn. We used cacti and succulents to decorate the tables and arranged for owls to pet and hold in the garden, both of which I know my dad would have loved. Sam made our incredible five-tier wedding cake and also designed our stationery and we named our tables after places we’d visited together.” – Larissa
The bride and groom wanted to give their wedding food a quintessentially English feel and the Galloping Gourmet chefs at Clock Barn offered a number of ways that the couple could do exactly that. After the ceremony, they celebrated with Pimm’s and canapés while the guests strolled through the garden and held owls in the Paddock. With mini shepherd’s pies, crispy risotto balls, deep-fried pork belly in breadcrumbs and curried lamb with a minted yoghurt dip, there was plenty to enjoy!
Larissa and Sam decided to serve afternoon tea rather than a traditional three-course menu and the talented produced a mouth-watering range of savoury and sweet treats for the newlyweds and their guests to enjoy. The wedding breakfast began with a selection of finger sandwiches, smoked salmon blinis, savoury scones with Parma ham and red onion marmalade, parmesan and sun-dried tomato muffins and mini quiches. Then it was on to the desserts and a delicious plethora of scones with clotted cream and strawberries, an array of fresh fruit tartlets, triple chocolate brownies and buttery shortbread biscuits with raspberries and Chantilly cream went down incredibly well with the happy couple and their loved ones. When it came to the evening, Larissa and Sam kept the British theme going with fish and chip cones rounding things off nicely.

Larissa and Sam had the most amazing day celebrating their marriage at the breathtaking Clock Barn, full of exceptional wedding food, love and laughter. There were a few moments which particularly stood out for the bride, however.
“Apart from finally getting to marry Sam, the owls were my favourite part! It was a great tribute to my dad who sadly passed away three years ago. Finally finding out that we were going on honeymoon to the Maldives was also an incredible moment. Sam had kept it a secret but I knew I could trust him to plan something special.” – Larissa
