2018 saw lots of delicious new foodie trends in the wedding world and there’s one thing which is set to be big news in 2019 too. Vegan food has become truly mainstream and here at Galloping Gourmet, plant-based dishes have pride of place in our new year menus. Whether you’re a committed vegan or just looking for tasty, healthy ideas for your wedding food, you’ll find plenty to choose from.
If there’s one thing we love, it’s great food. Our menus are full of irresistible options and we always suggest that you bring your lifestyle and passions into your wedding food. So, if you live a plant-based lifestyle, it makes perfect sense to incorporate this into your wedding. We’ve made sure that our new vegan dishes are packed with flavour and look as amazing as you would expect.
You might have discovered the delights of a plant-based diet during your New Year cleanse or Veganuary. Alternatively, you could be committed vegans or simply lovers of superb food. Whatever your reasons, our plant-based menus will appeal to you, and all your guests.
Start your wedding feast with a tempting selection of vegan canapés. Rainbow spring rolls with sweet chilli sauce bring colour to your canapés while butternut and cauliflower fritters with a coconut and lemon salsa are set to be a super popular choice. And that’s not all – we also suggest thyme and pecan stuffed dates or broccoli and chickpea burgers with caramelised onions. Your guests won’t be able to wait for your wedding breakfast!
Let’s take our seats for your wedding banquet and, with a glass of your chosen vegan or vegetarian wines to complement your meal, you could start with a sauté of mixed wild mushrooms on garlic crostini with wild rocket. Alternatively, for the warmer months, a salad of pickled beets, apple and white radish with chicory and celery leaves served with a pistachio and cider vinaigrette will open proceedings in final style.
Moving on to your main course and there’s a whole host of options for you to choose from. Fine plum tomato tart with black olive tapenade and wild rocket makes for a colourful plate or grilled baby courgettes and artichokes with white beans, extra virgin olive oil and peperonata sauce is just as eye-catching. However, perhaps the grilled asparagus and fennel puree with a green bean, courgette and shaved fennel salad served with a pumpkin vinaigrette appeals? Deciding on your favourite is sure to be a tricky task!
Every meal just has to end with a memorable dessert and our new menu includes an indulgent selection of favourites, all with a plant-based twist. Will you choose apple tarte Tatin or dark chocolate fudge cake with a vanilla and cherry compote? Or, if you’d prefer a fruity finale to your wedding breakfast, how about a zingy mango and cashew cake with fresh berries?
Then, round off your meal with a superb vegan Champagne to toast your marriage (and your fabulous choice in wedding menus!).
