A Glamorous Festive Feast – Your Glittering Winter Wedding Menu

If there’s a time of year for a glamorous wedding menu, it has to be Christmas. What could be better than a glittering feast during the festive season and, when you’re celebrating your wedding, the food and drink has to be absolutely amazing! We’re sharing our ideas for the ultimate winter wedding menu right here and it’s perfect for the party of a lifetime.

Winter is an amazing time of year for a wedding, and a winter wedding menu can be full of seasonal delights!

Christmas is most definitely a time to indulge and enjoy the most luxurious and decadent food and drink around. We love party food and nibbles at this time of year and we also adore substantial platters of fabulous food that really get us in the mood for feasting and fun with those we love. So, for our dream Christmas wedding menu, we’ve included everything that we crave at this time of year. It’s extravagant, it’s magnificent and it’s utterly lavish – yes, it’s the ideal festive feast!

Get things started with creative cocktails during your drinks reception

If there’s one drink that you simply must have at Christmas and New Year, it’s Champagne, so why not serve your guests Champagne laced with edible glitter after your ceremony? Alternatively, set up a display of mini Champagne bottles and ask your guests to help themselves. It might seem wrong drinking Champagne from a bottle but that’s exactly what we encourage you to do with our miniatures – just add a paper straw and you’ll be guaranteed happy guests in an instant!

Who doesn’t love a glass of something bubbly in the winter time? Champagne is the perfect way to celebrate

The party season really needs party food and our selection of canapés includes time-honoured favourites as well as modern classics. Smoked salmon blinis with dill cream cheese and salmon caviar bring a little more luxury to your drinks reception and for vegetarians, baby artichoke, beetroot carpaccio and sage beignets offer seasonal style.

To begin your wedding breakfast, we would suggest a delicate starter and spears of warm asparagus served with a soft poached egg and hollandaise sauce would be a perfect choice. If you’d prefer to start with seafood, seared scallops, minted pea puree, crisp pancetta, pea shoots and a red wine jus should be on your shortlist and we can promise you that it tastes as good as it sounds!

Your starter sets the tone for your whole winter wedding menu, so you’ll want to make sure that it’s something truly special!

Moving onto the main course and it’s time for an impressive platter of food that combines hearty winter favourites with plenty of special details. Might you opt for a roast fore rib of beef with fondant potatoes or crispy wedges, creamed horseradish and a béarnaise sauce? Or, does a perfectly grilled entrecôte steak make your mouth water? It certainly will when it’s served with Café de Paris butter, sauté potatoes and tortellini of crayfish.

Finally, finish the feast with a slightly lighter dessert – after all, you want your guests to be able to hit the dance floor and party the night away! Serve a smooth white chocolate mousse with cinnamon-spiced almonds and raspberries or an iced passion fruit parfait with a macadamia nut biscuit.

If that’s not enough, our evening food options will keep your guests dancing all night. A cheese cake wedding stack or delicious charcuterie board will mean that guests can help themselves to whatever they want.

What could be better than a cheese board to round off your wonderful winter wedding breakfast? It’s a great way to keep your guests talking and sharing together too.

Or, for a finale that’s really fit for a festive feast, how about one of our famous spit roasts? A whole spit-roasted pig with crackling, served straight from the spit with crusty rolls, stuffing and apple sauce will make sure that no one goes home hungry!

When it comes to the evening reception, wedding food doesn’t come more comforting and hearty than a hog roast
