Emma and Steve’s Country Summer Wedding at Bassmead Manor Barns

Emma and Steve celebrated their wedding day at Bassmead Manor Barns wedding venue in Hampshire

Emma and Steve were dreaming of a simple and stunning wedding venue in a beautiful location to hold their special day, and when they discovered Bassmead Manor Barns, they knew it was the one.

“We really wanted to get married in a barn and fell in love with Bassmead Manor Barns the second we drove up the magnificent drive,” says Emma. “The Rickety Barn where the ceremony takes place was exactly the romantic setting we had pictured ourselves getting married and the surrounding woodland and wheat fields were perfect for some stunning photographs.”

Dressing the venue

With a July wedding date set, the happy couple began creating a beautiful summery theme for their big day. Their colour scheme consisted of cream and dusky pink with a country-chic feel that matched the charming venue perfectly.

“We kept it simple in the ceremony barn with small buckets of flowers down the aisle and some jugs of flowers on the table at the front of the barn,” explains Emma. “We had larger buckets of flowers on each of the tables for the reception and bunting up in the Bridge Barn and let the natural beauty of the venue do most of the talking.”

Unforgettable wedding food

Not only has Bassmead Manor Barns earned a reputation as one of the most picturesque locations to tie the knot, but also for serving couples and guests the most amazing wedding food and drink. The Galloping Gourmet chefs provided Emma and Steve with a menu that they would never forget.

“We had a lovely drinks reception with plenty of Pimm’s and Mojitos as well as some delicious canapés,” says Emma. “The crispy squid, pork belly, crispy risotto balls and mini burgers went down a treat with our guests!”

Once seated, they all enjoyed a ham hock, sage and onion croquette to start, succulent roast pork with all the trimmings for the main course and a trio of desserts for dessert to finish the meal off perfectly. The fantastic feast didn’t stop there either, and when the evening celebration started, the bride and groom enjoyed a mouth-watering barbecue cooked outside in the exquisite courtyard.
