With its enchanting ceremony spaces, idyllic grounds and luxurious accommodation, it’s easy to see why the breathtaking Wasing Park ticked all the boxes for Emma and Leo. This remarkable wedding venue in Berkshire had everything the happy couple needed and more.
“We chose Wasing Park because it is a stunning venue and gave us the opportunity to get married outdoors in beautiful surroundings,” says Emma. “Having exclusive use and amazing in-house caterers made it extra special too.”
Wasing Park is full of character and charm, with a castle-like exterior combined with modern décor making it truly unique. Emma and Leo were determined to let the beauty of the place shine, but also wanted to put their stamp on the venue too.
“The look of the day was elegant and pretty,” explains Emma. “The decorations we used were mainly fresh flowers, such as wreaths on the tables, flower-filled jars lining the aisle and a large arrangement next to the Victorian Summerhouse where we held our ceremony.”
The happy couple got engaged while exploring Melbourne, so naturally travel played a part in the theme of the wedding too. Homemade luggage tags and a map of Australia made the seating plan while a vintage suitcase was used to collect cards. With a colour scheme of pale pink and light grey, it was the perfect summer wedding day.
After tying the knot al fresco, with the glorious gardens around them, Emma and Leo celebrated with a drinks reception and canapés in the sun. With Prosecco, Pimm’s, cold beers and elderflower fizz coupled with mini burgers, lamb skewers and crispy risotto balls, there were some incredible options for their guests to choose from.
It was then time for the wedding breakfast, and the newlyweds were welcomed into the Castle Barn to begin the feast. The Galloping Gourmet team at Wasing Park is renowned for creating the most amazing wedding food, and they certainly did not disappoint on Emma and Leo’s special day.
“We had the asparagus, poached egg and hollandaise sauce to start, fillet of beef with potato dauphinoise and roast pumpkin with spiced lentils for the vegetarians as a main course, and rounded the meal off with vanilla shortbread served with raspberries and cream as dessert,” says Emma.

The wonderful wedding food didn’t stop there, and when it came to the evening reception, the couple treated their guests to wood-fired pizzas cooked right before their eyes.
If there is one thing the Galloping Gourmet Events Team at Wasing Park loves, it’s helping couples create their perfect wedding day, and they were on hand throughout Emma and Leo’s planning to make sure the day went off without a hitch.
“The Events Team were so great!” says Emma. “They helped with everything from the food, advice on drinks and quantities, timings, decisions and questions about all parts of the day. They coordinated everything and were happy to be contacted at any time. We completely trusted they would do a fantastic job, which they did! On the day they were simply flawless and so helpful, which meant that we could relax and enjoy it all.”
