After getting engaged, Ellie and her fiancé Rob were looking for the perfect place to hold their wedding. One where they could enjoy amazing food and have lots of exquisite space to enjoy with all their friends and family. With their hearts set on a winter wedding, they knew they had found the ideal location when they visited Curradine Barns, a charming barn wedding venue in Worcestershire.
“Curradine Barns was only the second venue we visited but we knew straight away that it was right for us. We didn’t look any further! It’s hard to describe but it just felt right; close to home, gorgeous countryside location, great food and drink, friendly staff and it was just the right size for our cosy winter wedding.” – Ellie
With the date set for December 1st, Ellie and Rob set about planning a fantastic festive wedding at this beautiful barn venue in the heart of the countryside.
“I wanted to keep it pretty relaxed but with a touch of sparkle because it was December! We both love Christmas and it was incredible to have a huge Christmas tree in the Granary Barn, it felt very special.” – Ellie
To match her engagement ring, Ellie opted for a rose gold colour scheme, decorating the barn with bunting, confetti and pinwheels, as well as candles and string lights for that festive touch. Greenery played a big part in the décor too, with a eucalyptus table runner, floral centrepieces and foliage rings working wonderfully with Curradine Barns’ country feel. To top it all off, the couple added a doughnut wall, much to the delight of their guests!
The Galloping Gourmet team at Curradine Barns are renowned for serving the most incredible food and drink, and the happy couple knew they could rely on them to provide a menu that would wow their guests. After the ceremony, a wintry drinks reception was the perfect way to celebrate. Warming mulled wine was served with a selection of mouth-watering canapés, crispy fried squid, mini shepherd’s pies and little black pudding balls all going down a treat.
When it was time for the wedding breakfast, everybody made their way into the characterful Barley Barn to enjoy an exquisite menu. Galloping Gourmet’s signature smoked bacon Scotch egg provided a delightful starter, followed by fillet of beef and dauphinoise potatoes for the main course and a decadent sticky toffee pudding for dessert.
“One of the reasons we chose the venue was because of the delicious menu and it didn’t disappoint! I loved the sticky toffee pudding, it reminded me of my Grandad who loved puddings, he would have been pleased with our choices! – Ellie
As day turned to evening, the chefs fired up the outdoor pizza oven and served the newlyweds and the guests the most incredible wood-fired pizzas. The perfect choice to keep everybody happy and dancing the night away!

They provided Ellie and Rob with all the help and support they could need to take the stress and worry out of their wedding planning.
“The Events Team were very helpful with any questions I had and because there wasn’t a wedding on the day before they let us set up early, which was a great help, especially because we were doing our own flowers!” – Ellie
