Desserts – More Than A Piece Of Cake!

The famous quote says ‘let them eat cake’ and although we love wedding cake, we also adore fabulous desserts. Is there anything better than an indulgent sweet treat after a fantastic meal? It’s the perfect finale to a memorable feast and on your wedding day, that’s exactly what you want. We’re here to share some of our favourite dessert ideas and to encourage you to enjoy selecting this delicious element of your wedding menu.

Choosing your wedding menu is always a great experience and picking your dessert is so much fun. You get to indulge your sweet tooth, select a dessert that you love or try something that just makes your mouth water. Yummy looking desserts always encourage conversation between guests and the smiles that fabulous puds bring always light up your reception. So, while it’s an easy decision to include a gorgeous dessert in your wedding breakfast, deciding exactly what to serve can be trickier, particularly when you have such a tasty selection in front of you…

A delicious passionfruit parfait would be the perfect option for a light and refreshing dessert idea

Does a light option appeal? If so, our iced passionfruit parfait with a macadamia but biscuit is an elegant and refreshing dessert, perfect to serve after a rich meal. We also recommend our incredibly popular lavender panna cotta that’s finished with a luxurious white chocolate a raspberry ganache.

If old school favourites are your thing then what could be better than a treacle sponge? Well, a baked treacle sponge with kirsch cherries and a cardamom and vanilla syrup elevates your favourite dish to a completely wedding-ready style. For the ultimate comfort pud, you have to consider our utterly moreish caramelised bread and butter pudding. And yes, it comes with lashings of custard!

If you can’t decide which of your favourites sweet treats to finish your meal, then why not go for a trio of desserts!

There are also endless options for vegetarians and vegans. We’ve been told that our vegan dark chocolate fudge cake with a vanilla and cherry compote goes down incredibly with all guests, no matter whether they are vegan or not! For an elegant dessert, how about apple tarte Tatin with vanilla ice cream or, for vegan couples and guests, may we recommend our mango and cashew cake served with zingy fresh berries.

We also know that children love desserts, so we have created a special selection of sweet treats for younger wedding guests. Raspberry jelly with a raspberry sorbet or fruit salad with mango sorbet are both yummy and healthy options that children and parents will approve of! However, our absolute favourite has to be ice cream milkshakes served with freshly made chocolate chip cookies that always gets the thumbs-up from lucky children who, quite rightly, refuse to share!

So, there’s so much more to wedding desserts than cake. If you want to make a highlight of your wedding cake, why not cut it before you take to the dance floor for your first dance so that all your guests can be part of the moment? Then, the cake can be cut and served later in the evening to fuel all those dance floor shenanigans!
