When it came to finding their perfect wedding venue, Ruth and Steven were looking for a breathtaking setting that was easily accessible. Well, when you have friends and family coming from all over the world, it’s quite important! With its chic décor, idyllic surroundings and central location, Morden Hall in South London was just the place.
“The renovated Georgian building has a wonderful modern feel and really suited our taste,” explains Ruth. “The staircase was a beautiful feature which made a lovely entrance for the ceremony. We also loved that there were two rooms to get ready in – one for the bride and one for the groom, meaning that he definitely couldn’t be late!”
Ruth and Steven wanted to let Morden Hall’s exquisite décor shine out, but did add a few touches to give their day a personal feel. Combining art deco style with nods to their shared love of Marvel films, the happy couple made the place their own.
“The venue was so lovely, it didn’t require a lot of decoration,” smiles Ruth.
Beautiful flowers decorated the staircase, fireplaces and tables, while lanterns provided ambient lighting.
After tying the knot in the delightful Willow Room, Ruth and Steven headed into the gardens to share drinks and canapés with their loved ones.
With Pimm’s and elderflower sparklers for the drinks reception, the Galloping Gourmet Events Team at Morden Hall served mushroom arancini, mini shepherd’s pies and vegetable spring rolls, which all went down a treat.
After mingling in the tranquil grounds, the time came to sit down in the magnificent Mulberry Room for a delicious wedding breakfast. With a starter of goat’s cheese filo tart, fillet of beef with potato dauphinoise for the main course and a glazed lemon tart for dessert, it’s safe to say the Galloping Gourmet chefs wowed the couple and their guests. It wasn’t the first time that Ruth and Steven got to sample our delightful wedding food however.
“We were invited to Morden Hall for the tasting evening where we got to try different types of the food from their various menus and sample a lot of wine!” says Ruth. “We choose the beef course based on that tasting evening. We were won over by the food as it was fine dining standard and we love to eat out.”

When the evening reception began, the mouth-watering food continued. The happy couple chose wood-fired pizzas, cooked fresh in the garden before their eyes, and these were definitely well received by all their guests.
If there is one thing that couples can be assured of when they get married at Morden Hall it is that they will be thoroughly looked after from start to finish. From their first visit until the end of their wedding day, the Galloping Gourmet Events Team were there for Ruth and Steven and the couple were incredibly grateful for all the support.
“They were very supportive,” says Ruth, “We had lots of the contact to discuss every aspect of the day and they always had time to meet us leading up to the day. Our personal wedding planner also knew the food menus inside out and advised us with any queries we had along the way.”
Every part of Ruth and Steven’s day went to plan and it couldn’t have been more perfect. With their friends and family all around them and the most amazing wedding food and drink, their wedding at Morden Hall was unforgettable for all the right reasons.
