Behind the scenes on our new wedding food and drink shoot

Just as we finish a busy summer season full of beautiful weddings, it’s time for us to start thinking about new wedding food and drinks menus!  It’s a tough job sampling all the wonderful dishes… but someone has to do it, and here’s a sneak peek of what’s to come in 2018.

Our photo shoot this year took place at the stunning Blackwell Grange where we provide the in-house wedding planning, management and catering services; you might also recognise the venue as the backdrop to some of our recent filming too!

Taking place over two days, we were fortunate enough to be joined by the design team at Sedley Place and the very talented Andrew Gale Photography.

Day one was an early start accompanied by lots of coffee, so we could capture our new menu items and cocktail stations; including lots of lovely reception drink ideas like this Hard Lemonade option with raspberry vodka.

We’re very pleased to be extending our range of vegetarian and vegan dishes for our 2018 menus, and had fun capturing these photos as well as testing them all!  Our favourite starter being Mushroom ala Grecque with thyme roasted baby leeks, pickled fennel, mouli and shallot salad.

We think this vegan main course of roast baby pumpkin with spiced red lentils, spinach, coriander and coconut sambal would be popular with all guests.

Fish courses were next to be photographed; our Executive Group Head Chef, Andy, showcased lots of fresh, vibrant colours as well as interesting textures.

This classic main course of Burgundy chicken with crisp bacon and red wine jus looked almost too good to eat, however as soon as we captured the perfect shot we were all eager to dig in.

Another main course being added to our wedding menus is this fantastic looking duo of lamb, with seared cutlets and individual shepherd’s pie.

The most anticipated element of the day had to be the desserts!  Our Chef Melissa is pretty famous amongst us for producing the most moreish puddings.  It certainly was a highlight with both a lemon meringue pie and Pimm’s jelly with apple cake and raspberry gel.

A fantastic day was had by all the team and we’ll very much looking forward to seeing these dishes crop up on wedding menus soon.
